The troop is growing again! We have lots of new scouts to welcome. Five Webelos from Pack 148 joined Troop 444 in a cross-over ceremony held in April: Logan C., Christian L. (Travis’ brother), Tristan P., Christopher P. and Gideon T. In addition, older scouts Brian W. and Cody R. joined Troop 444. We’d also like to welcome Eric Conrad as a new Assistant Scoutmaster and Troop Chaplain. Kate Bishop has volunteered to take over as Advancement Coordinator. Welcome all, we’re glad to have you!

Falcon restaurant “La Mission” has graciously agreed to hold several “Scout Nights” to benefit the troop. Mark your calendar now with the following dates: May 17 – 19 and May 24 – 26. All six nights the restaurant will donate 15% of its proceeds to the troop. However, every guest table must present a flyer for it. What can you do to help? Simple. Tell everyone you can. Pass out the flyers that guests must present to the restaurant to get the donation. If your family wants to try out a great new restaurant, consider taking a flyer and going on one of the scout
nights. If you need flyers, please contact Mr. or Mrs. Martinez.

postheadericon Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser A Success

Troop 444 held its first Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, April 17th. The troop served up a complete spaghetti dinner with spaghetti and meat sauce, green salad, garlic bread and either iced tea or Kool-Aid to drink for just $5 per person. In addition, crafts, desserts and CFL bulbs were available for a small fee. Boys who brought crafts or desserts received money for their individual scout accounts while CFL sales and proceeds from the dinner went into the troop account. The troop made $506 dollars from the event which also included CFL sales and tips. Cole made $85 for his scout account on craft sales and Haven received $14.50 for selling desserts. Caleb also made $8 from his sales. Great job everyone!

On May 7 – 9, Troop 444 once again camped at the Ben Lohman Gun Club to work on rifle shooting and the related merit badges. With safety the message of the day, the boys learned and practiced and enjoyed every minute of the weekend. Boys who attended included: Daniel, Cole, Travis, Matthew, Caleb, Beau, Chris, Logan, Christian, Tristan, and Sean. Adults present were Donovan, Alex and Pat Palacol.
